Documents required

  • Applicant’s passport valid for at least 6 months after the intended exit date. At least two pages of the passport should be free of any notes, stamps and visas.
  • 1 original visa application form, thoroughly filled out and dated, bearing applicant’s signature.
  • 1 original passport size, front view, white background and recently-taken photograph.
  • One photocopy of information pages of the passport.
  • A letter from your company, travel agent or from yourself (if travelling individually) explaining who is travelling, where, when and for what purpose.
  • STANDARD FORM OF CONFIRMATION FOR FOREIGN TOURISTS. CONFIRMATION is issued by the Russian hosting travel company. It carries a REFERENCE-NUMBER of the hosting company (which confirms that this company is allowed to invite foreign tourists), personal data of each tourist, dates of trip, itinerary in Russia, services as paid. CONFIRMATION must be signed by authorised person and carry the official seal of the Russian travel company.
  • The most important document to be submitted is INVITATION or VISA SUPPORT.
    • *INVITATION from your Russian host must be issued by the local office of the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation (FMS). The invitations for work, study or multiple entry visas must be submitted in original.
    • *VISA SUPPORT is provided by your host through Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
  • If applying for a multi-entry or double entry visa, it should be specifically mentioned in the Visa support.
  • Applicants planning to stay in Russia for more than 3 months (work or study) must submit HIV test Certificate issued not earlier than 3 months before the visa application.
